Arramü Hairdressing is led by Maddy Scarramuzza, a bespoke stylist with 29 years in the craft. Her career spans London’s Mayfair and Covent Garden, work in France, and years refining her approach in Leicestershire before creating a calm, private studio in a small Welsh village.

Maddy’s method is intuitive and grounded in skill. She blends precision with creativity to shape hair that feels natural, balanced and personal. Each appointment is steady and considered, giving you space to slow down while your hair is assessed, understood and designed with intention.

Every cut begins with a straightforward conversation about how your hair behaves and what you need from it. The result is hair that moves well, feels effortless and reflects who you are today.

More About Maddy 

The Beginning

I never planned to become a hairdresser. I started my A Levels in the arts but was restless for change. One afternoon, walking through my hometown, I saw a sign in a salon window: Apprentice Wanted. I walked in on instinct.

The owner finished with her client and asked how long I’d wanted to do hair.
“About five minutes,” I said.

That was the start of everything.

London Calling

Six months later, I was invited to train at the Paul Mitchell flagship salon in Mayfair, London. At seventeen, suitcase in hand, I stepped into a world of precision, artistry and high-profile clients. Mayfair taught me craft, discipline and above all, to listen and to see beauty as truth, not performance.

Foundations and Flight

London became home. Later I moved to France for a year to learn the language and expand my world. Returning to London, I joined a creative Covent Garden salon as a director, eventually managing the team.

Between Mayfair’s discipline and Covent Garden’s creative freedom, I learned to blend structure with feeling. I taught stylists, worked on shoots, refined my techniques, and earned a national award for innovation. It was never about trends. It was about connection, energy, and transformation.

Coming Home

After years in the city, I wanted to build something more personal. A space shaped by warmth, care, and genuine artistry. I opened my first salon in Leicestershire, creating an environment where conversation and creativity lived side by side.

Every head told a story. Every appointment was an act of trust. That is where I learned that hairdressing is everything to do with people.

Finding Balance

City life taught me speed. Motherhood and the countryside taught me stillness. Moving to rural Wales gave me space to breathe again. Here, surrounded by nature, I work with women who seek the same thing: balance with purpose.

Many of my clients travel from across the UK, turning their visit into a small retreat. There is time to talk, time to listen, and time to create something that feels entirely their own.

Philosophy

After twenty-nine years in this craft, I know that hair will tell you what it needs if you take the time to listen. The best styles are discovered, not forced. They unfold naturally, like sculpture emerging from stone.

Life changes and so do we. Hair is part of that evolution. I create styles that reflect who you are now and help you step forward with quiet confidence. When we soften inside, our hair follows.

Each appointment is intuitive and unhurried, designed to refresh both hair and spirit. Renewal is vital, not just for how we look but how we feel within.

My Level 2 counselling qualification deepens my approach. It helps me listen beyond words, to sense when something deeper needs releasing. When we begin to accept ourselves fully, our hair starts to shine differently.

At Arramü Hairdressing, your hair is a living story. Together we shape it with care, honesty, and artistry. This is not about reinvention. It is about recognition.

Today

Now I work from a small, intimate studio surrounded by nature. One client at a time. No rush. No distractions. Just presence, craft and connection.

I still feel the same spark I did at seventeen but now it carries the wisdom of time. My joy is witnessing the moment a woman sees herself clearly again. 

Hair is my medium, but my real work is helping women feel at home in their own reflection.
